Publisher Description

Alti-Barometer Pro uses your iPhone’s or Watch’s sensor to automatically and continuously record your barometric pressure and altitude. Even while your iPhone is in standby or you're using other apps, Alti-Barometer will seamlessly process and record pressure data in the background. Using beautiful interactive graphs, our app shows you barometric pressure trends over hours and days to help you understand which way the weather may be headed.

Our app supports a broad range ofl auto-updating widgets and Watch face complications. It also supports Apple’s Live Activities to let you see real-time pressure, altitude, and compass direction. And to make sure you don’t get caught off guard, the app’s Baro Alert capability automatically notifies you of large changes in barometric pressure.

The Apple Watch is always a top priority for us, and the powerful Watch app can run completely independently from your iPhone and transforms your Watch into a true ABC (altimeter/barometer/compass) watch. And our Watch app includes a rich set of complications you can choose from to make your Watch face come alive..

Our BaroMap feature lets you see what’s happening around you by displaying pressure trends across the app’s global user community on an interactive map.

And whenever you need a world-class high-precision altimeter, Alti-Barometer is ready. A true pressure-based altimeter, our app can keep track of even the smallest altitude changes with far greater precision than battery-draining GPS apps. In addition to altitude, Alti-Barometer displays vertical speed and keeps track of key stats such as total ascent and descent times and distances. And because it’s handy to know what direction you’re heading, Alti-Barometer displays a handy compass on the altimeter screens.

The History feature automatically saves daily snapshots of your pressure and altitude data using Apple’s secure iCloud and lets you interactively explore historical data across weeks, months, or years. Want to see the pressure graph of that big storm last year? With our history capabilities, you can.

We also made it easy to share a snapshots of baro or alto graphs through social media, email, or messaging with our one-tap share feature.

Our exclusive real-time wind analyzer estimate local wind speed using only your device’s sensors - not internet required. Now you can know how hard the wind is blowing even in the middle of nowhere!

Alti-Barometer also shows you weather conditions and forecasts using data from the global network of NOAA/ICAO weather stations - the same weather information that pilots use around the world to fly safely. It’s real weather from real weather stations. And our app has a full suite of weather condition and forecast notifications so you’re never surprised.

And even the free version of our app is 100% ad-free to provide the best possible experience. If you need even more capabilities, the Premium Features upgrade unlocks iPhone widget support, CSV file data import and export, unlimited history, additional Watch functionality, extended recording time, extended altimeter run time, and much more.

Although some features require internet connectivity, rest assured that Alti-Barometer can operate completely offline indefinitely and was designed to be a true wilderness and off-grid companion.

So why all the features and capabilities that nobody else has? Because we’re weather nerds and outdoors enthusiasts, and we couldn’t find a real altimeter/barometer app that came anywhere close to our expectations. So we set out to build what we believe is now the world’s most advanced barometer/altimeter app on any platform, period.

If you want the best, give our app a try. We hope you enjoy it as much as we do!

Version History Fixed issue with rendering of the compass points on the altimeter screen compass rose. 4.92 Sep 25 This update contains a fix for a bug that could cause the app to crash under certain conditions. 4.91 Sep 20 Barometer alerts have been redesigned to be easier to use, yet much more powerful. A new settings screen lets you set up to 10 different alerts, each with their own measurement time interval and pressure change value. You can tap on any alert in the list to change it, add a new alert with the '+' icon at the bottom of the screen, or delete an existing alert by tapping on '-' symbol. For ease of use, pressure change rates are displayed as one of 7 descriptive values. If you want to specify exact numeric values, just tap on the '123' icon at the bottom of the alert settings screen.

The previous version’s “Baro stats” section has been replaced with a fully interactive UI that lets you see pressure levels and trends over the past 24-48 hours. The top row displays pressure levels, and the bottom row displays the rate of pressure change. Each horizontal element corresponds to one hour. The color coding for the top row is the same as what is used for the circular barometer gauge ranging from red (very low pressure) to green(very high pressure). The pressure level indicator for each hour is positioned corresponding to very high pressure (indicator at the top) to very low pressure (indicator at the bottom). On the second row, pressure change rates are color coded the same way as the barometer graph, and the color-coded bar extends above or below the middle of the row based on the direction and magnitude of change. The arrows in the middle of the row show the relative magnitude of pressure change. You can tap on the chart to display data for a specific time, and then swipe left/right to explore other times. The main barometer graph will also highlight the displayed time if it’s in range. This new UI provides a powerful way to visualize pressure change over time while giving you detailed data.

The compass UI has been revised for greater clarity.

The iPhone widgets and Watch complications have been redesigned to include up to 6 hours of barometer trend info using the pressure trend arrows. The trend arrows match the ones in the new 24-48 hour pressure trend UI.

When adjusting altitude manually, a double-tap one the new altitude will clear it to make it easy to enter a new number from scratch.

Added logic to prevent the Watch widget from getting stale.

Added refinements to the Zimbretti barometric pressure forecast logic.

Changed the alert log to display newer alerts at the top of the list vs. at the bottom. A double tap will take you to the end of the alert log list.

Fixed issue with weather notifications sometimes not being translated.
Fixed weather scaling bug with English units.
Fixed issue with missing translations for barometer alerts.
Fixed issue with the alert log displaying duplicate spaces displayed when using language translation. 4.90 Sep 18 Fixed bugs with language detection. Added an option to manually select the language used in the app in the options screen. Changed some of the wording to help with translation to other languages, and fixed some UI layout bugs related to translated text. Fixed bug with min/max symbols being swapped for "displayed altitude" values on the altitude screen. 4.85 May 8 Fixed bug on the Sensor screen that caused units to not reflect the current setting for units other than inHg. 4.84 Apr 20 Added in-app translation for languages supported by Apple's Translate technology. Updated UI elements where possible to be language-neutral. 4.83 Apr 10 Altimeter-specific bug fixes for min/max vertical speed and total ascent/descent values. Related bug fixes for CSV file output. 4.82 Feb 24 Fixed color issue with tinted (2-color) Watch complications. Fixed bug with vertical speed and elevation gain/loss stats when using meters for units. Fixed incorrect time being displayed when exploring data in the altimeter graph. My thanks to the users who let me know about these issues. Fixed bug with weather forecast "off" notifications (if enabled) not reporting the correct forecast condition value. 4.81 Feb 20 The History feature has been re-architected for improved performance and responsiveness by caching previously downloaded data. In addition, the app will now cache new days of history data on your device, and will upload new history to the cloud when an internet connection is available. This means that you can be offline for extended periods of time, and new history data will be automatically saved to the cloud once you have an internet connection again. The History feature will now also display the partially-completed history for the current day so you can now see pressure and altitude history right up to the current time.

This version adds the ability to switch between displaying altitude-corrected pressure most commonly used for tracking weather-related changes (i.e., what you typically see in weather reports), and absolute pressure which is also sometimes referred to as station pressure. Absolute pressure is simply the air pressure reported by your device’s air pressure sensor. This can be useful for various scenarios such as migraine tracking where absolute pressure - the actual air pressure impacting the body - may be more informative than altitude-adjusted pressure which only shows pressure and pressure changes due to the effects of weather.

When the app is displaying absolute pressure, it will be indicated with an “ABS” icon. This applies to widgets, Watch complications, and the history screen as well.

You can switch between station pressure and absolute pressure using a new station pressure setting on the options screen in the “Display preferences” section.

You can also switch between the two modes on the pressure display screen by tapping on the small barometer dial under the graph when displaying altitude-adjusted pressure, or tapping on the “ABS” icon when displaying absolute pressure.

The app also has a number of minor UI improvements such as larger fonts for displaying the start/end dates and displayed time scale under the graph using symbols to indicate the scale range instead of “displayed time”.

This version also has a number of bug fixes and internal improvements. 4.80 Feb 14 Added new option to receive weather notifications when a condition is no longer active. Fixed issue with weather forecast notifications sometimes not being sent. Various minor enhancements and bug fixes. 4.78 12/25/2025 Fixed bug with 1-,3-, and graph-scale barometric pressure change values not being displayed correctly on the Watch barometer screen with non-English units. 4.77 12/11/2025 Fixed issue with duplication annotations in the BaroMap feature. Made enhancements to make background updates even more robust. Added internal enhancements to allow gracefully "riding through" periods of time when both GPS and the OS-altimeter are unavailable or inaccurate. Added iPad support. The iPhone app will now automatically stop background activity if you manually dismiss the Live Activity widget by swiping left; this will reduce battery consumption. Fixed an issue that caused singe taps and long presses to initially set the interactive cursor position slightly offset from the tip of your finger. Added details to the online on how to use the interactive feature of the barometer and altimeter graphs. Added a dedicated wind measurement screen to the Watch to make it easier to see the results. Added an option to the Watch to turn off the weather screen. 4.74 12/04/2025 Fixed remaining issues with the app's Live Activity feature. Fixed a related issue on the Watch that caused background operation to continue when not desired. Reconfigure the Watch's background operation option to be easier to use and made it distinct from the related Live Activity feature on the iPhone app. Fixed issue with resetting altimeter stats on the iPhone and Watch altimeter screens. As always, if you see anything that's not working properly, please let me know at info@bogbridges.com and I will investigate. 4.73 10/01/2025 Fixed critical bug for the "What's new" screen. 4.72 09/25/2025 Fixed iOS-specific compatibility issue Live Activity.
